Physical Therapy Technician

Coverage Hours: Monday–Friday, between 7:00 AM–7:00 PM | No weekends

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Physical Therapy Technician to join our team. The PT Tech works alongside physical therapists and physical therapist assistants to provide an exceptional patient experience and support patients through their prescribed rehabilitation programs.
This is an active, hands-on position ideal for someone with an interest in physical therapy, exercise science, kinesiology, athletic training, or healthcare.
What You'll Do
- Assist physical therapists and PTAs with patient treatment plans and daily therapy sessions.
- Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises under the direction of the treating therapist.
- Demonstrate proper exercise form, technique, and body mechanics.
- Monitor patients during exercises and report pain, fatigue, or other concerns to the therapist.
- Assist patients with walking, transfers, balance activities, and use of assistive devices.
- Set up, clean, and maintain treatment areas and therapy equipment.
- Apply hot/cold therapy and other modalities as directed and supervised by the physical therapist.
- Encourage and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation.
- Document exercises, repetitions, patient participation, and responses as directed.
- Assist with scheduling, patient communication, records, and insurance authorization follow-up.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and patient-focused therapy environment.
- Work collaboratively with therapists, clinic staff, patients, and families.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous healthcare, athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical therapy experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented.
- Comfortable working independently while following the direction of a physical therapist.
- Ability to learn and follow proper patient safety and infection-control procedures.
- Excellent attendance and flexibility to work across PT clinics within the assigned market.
Physical Requirements
This is an active role requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Must be able to assist patients and move therapy equipment as needed and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
