Front Office Team Member
Job Overview:Â
Dr. Mark Rubino, MD is looking for a Front Office Team Member for his Naples, Florida practice. The Front Office Team Member responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering phones, assist with collection of patient documents (labs, tests, x-rays, etc.), scheduling patients, patient registration, patient discharge support, support billing duties, familiar with prior authorization, collect medical samples, greeting patients and visitors, maintaining a clean reception area, and assisting in the overall program success. This position is full-time, working 35 hours per week, with a ½ day on Fridays.
What You’ll be Doing:
- Stationed at the front desk, the Front Office Team Member will be responsible for answering the phone and greeting patients and other visitors.
- Assist physician with the collection of missing labs, tests, x-rays, etc. as requested. Also, responsible for collection of samples for outside testing.Â
- Schedule new patient and returning patient appointments for the appropriate length of time needed for each type of visit.
- Register patients in the AthenaHealth Electronic Medical Record System, including collecting and documenting insurance and billing information.
- Support physician with appropriate patient discharge tasks, as requested.
- Entering of daily billing charges into AthenaHealth Electronic Medical Record System, when applicable.
- Consistently adheres to clinical, safety, and compliance standards.
- Maintains a clean and tidy waiting room area for patients and visitors.
- Ensures compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by safeguarding patient information and maintaining the highest level of confidentiality standards.
- May be responsible for participating in the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements for This Role:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be proficient in Athenahealth Electronic Medical Record System
- Minimum of two years’ experience in receptionist type role in medical clinic required.Â
- Patient scheduling and insurance verification experience required.
- Billing experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate patience and compassion with patients at all times.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by a Front Office Team Member to successfully perform the essential competencies, duties, and requirements of this position. These include standing, walking, driving, lifting up to 35 pounds and sitting for extended periods of time and looking at a computer screen for extended periods of time. In addition, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting and shifting heavy objects. Employees should ask for assistance if needed. Â
