About the Role

POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Manager, Technology & Partnerships provides program management, coordination, and research support for BMI’s Generative AI initiatives, industry partnerships, and creator-focused programs.

 

The Program Manager coordinates cross-functional activities, maintains program plans and documentation, facilitates stakeholder communication, tracks risks and dependencies, and follows up on actions and decisions. The role serves as a central point of coordination, helping ensure that stakeholders have the information, materials, and organizational support needed to advance shared priorities.

 

The Program Manager supports the development and implementation of enterprise and music industry AI policies by coordinating stakeholder input, research, working sessions, documentation, and follow-up activities. The role also supports BMI’s participation in industry groups and standards initiatives focused on artificial intelligence, music technology, copyright, licensing, metadata, and creator rights.

 

The Program Manager develops and manages strategic initiatives for the Spark Creator Benefits Program, including partner research and evaluation, partnership development, relationship management, cross-functional coordination, member communications, program reporting, and ongoing program growth.

 

This position requires strong organizational and analytical skills, sound judgment, executive-level communication capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities while translating complex and rapidly evolving information into clear, actionable materials.

 

 

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Generative AI Program Management & Coordination

  • Provides program management and coordination support for Generative AI initiatives across Technology, Product, Legal, Operations, Licensing, and Data & Analytics teams.
  • Maintains program plans, schedules, action items, decision logs, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
  • Facilitates working groups, planning sessions, stakeholder meetings, and executive briefings, ensuring clear documentation and follow-up.
  • Supports enterprise and music industry AI policy initiatives through research, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinates activities supporting AI-enabled products, analytics initiatives, pilots, and proofs of concept.
  • Develops presentations, executive summaries, status reports, and briefing materials for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Tracks industry developments, standards activities, and emerging trends relevant to BMI's AI initiatives and strategic priorities.

 

Program Operations & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Provides organizational and coordination support for strategic initiatives led by the Executive Director, Program Management.
  • Coordinates meetings, workshops, working sessions, executive briefings, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Prepares agendas, presentations, briefing materials, talking points, notes, and follow-up communications.
  • Tracks commitments, decisions, action items, and key deliverables across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Serves as a central point of coordination for assigned initiatives, facilitating communication and information sharing among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains organized program documentation, stakeholder records, and shared knowledge resources.

 

Industry Research & Engagement

  • Conducts research on emerging technologies, industry trends, creator tools, business models, and market developments relevant to BMI.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes information into executive briefings, presentations, research summaries, and actionable insights.
  • Develops internal knowledge-sharing materials that increase awareness of technology, AI, and music industry developments.
  • Researches, curates, and publishes BMI's industry intelligence newsletter covering music, media, technology, AI, copyright, gaming, and the creator economy.
  • Supports BMI's participation in industry organizations, standards groups, conferences, and collaborative initiatives focused on AI, music technology, copyright, licensing, and creator rights.
  • Coordinates relationships and information exchange with technology partners, industry associations, creators, and other external stakeholders.

 

Spark Creator Benefits Program

  • Manages research, evaluation, and coordination of creator tools, services, and strategic partners supporting the Spark Creator Benefits Program.
  • Supports partnership development, implementation, relationship management, and ongoing program operations.
  • Coordinates cross-functional activities with Product, Technology, Legal, Corporate Communications, and other stakeholders.
  • Develops program communications, reporting, insights, and supporting materials to inform decision-making and program growth.
  • Maintains Spark program assets, partner information, documentation, and related content resources.
  • Identifies potential opportunities for program enhancements, new partnerships, and creator-focused initiatives.

 

General Responsibilities

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, technology, strategy, research, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

 

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in program management, project coordination, research, strategic initiatives, partnerships, technology, or a related field.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives and managing stakeholder communication, documentation, and follow-up activities.
  • Experience preparing presentations, reports, briefing materials, and executive-level communications.
  • Experience conducting research and translating findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Experience working with external partners, industry organizations, or collaborative stakeholder groups preferred.
  • Experience with emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, analytics, digital products, or innovation programs preferred.
  • Music industry, creator economy, or digital content experience preferred but not required.
