Missions:Ā 

Strategy:Ā 

  • Perform Needs Analysis for different Schneider Businesses and Segments relevant for the Category.Ā 
  • Perform Market Analysis / Intelligence for the region in scope (North America) identifying market trends affecting pricing, supply, geopolitical and other risks and other strategic subjects.Ā 
  • Lead Alignment on Category Strategy engaging all key stakeholders: Business Unit, Industrial Cluster, Offer Creation Process (OCP) Procurement, Quality, Supply Chain organizations, etc.Ā 
  • Design Short-Mid-Long term Category Strategy for the region to meet business needs and achieve objectives on continuous improvement (Quality, Cost/Productivity, Cash, Service/Supply Chain, Innovation, Sustainability).Ā 
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of the Global Cost Models, Supplier Scoring Models, Price Indexes etc.Ā 
  • Create, deploy and manage the evolution of the Supplier Orientation Chart (SOC) outlining supplier categorization for the full scope of the category and guiding in consequence, growth, keep or disengagement of each supplier.Ā 
  • Leverage other Regions for Global Coordination and Best Practices Sharing (i.e. Center of Excellence -COE- participation / leading).Ā

Execution:Ā 

  • Create the Yearly Negotiation Roadmap in alignment with Category PoleĀ 
  • Support Category Pole team in their negotiations based on market expertise (preparation of arguments, procurement tools utilization, etc.). Participates in key strategic negotiations and is a point of negotiation escalation on critical suppliers.Ā 
  • Create the Business Reviews roadmap in alignment with Category Pole. Provide general key messages on expectations and participates as considered relevantĀ 
  • Take part in OCP steerco/interlocks to share updated SOC and validate Supplier Business Allocation for new projects.Ā 
  • Define the Contractual Strategy of the category (Master Service Agreement, Capacity Agreement, Lending for Use Agreements, etc.) in alignment with Category Pole and support with strategic suppliersĀ 
  • Validates Change of Supplier (CoS) and Dual Sourcing projects in the category.Ā

Performance monitoring:Ā 

  • Track Category Performance in his geographic zone (Quality, Service/Supply Chain, Productivity, Innovation, …) and the execution of key initiatives (increase of Master Service Agreement coverage, risk management actions, etc.).Ā 
  • Drive compliance to Procurement Excellence System (PES) processes.Ā

  • Communicates and share Category Strategy and other critical information (i.e. business needs evolution, market evolution, technical developments in the category, external best practices) with Associate Category Managers.Ā 
  • Animate the network of Associate Category Managers (i.e. Core Team Meetings) for the category in the geographic zone.Ā 
  • Supports the yearly objective setting and performance assessment of the Associate Category Managers for the category in the geographic zone.Ā

  • Performance (Cost/productivity, Delivery/Supply Chain, Quality, Innovation, Sustainability)Ā 
  • New economies/Mature economies Sourcing ratioĀ 
  • Implemented new suppliers (including those in new economies) for NAM RegionĀ 
  • Sustainability (including The Suppliers Zero Carbon Project, Green Materials, Corporate Social Responsibility, etc.)Ā 
  • Contract coverage over the scope (% of Master Service Agreement)Ā 
  • Spend consolidation with strategic suppliersĀ Ā 
  • Supplier at risk reduction ratio/yearĀ 
  • Supplier DevelopmentĀ

QualificationsĀ 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or equivalent), MBA or similar is a plusĀ 
  • Senior purchasing individual with a strong technical background, with prior experience in industrial companies working in the Procurement of Fabricated Components or Raw MaterialsĀ 
  • Ability to interact and influence internal and external stakeholders at top management levelĀ 
  • Strong negotiation skills in complex and dynamic environmentĀ 
  • Ability to work in multicultural and cross functional mode, strong operational and strategical skills, ability to deliver on time, work in project mode, meet deadlines, push decisions.Ā 
  • Regular travel according to business needsĀ

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 168,800 - USD 253,200 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
