Senior SAS DeveloperĀ  -Ā  REMOTE

Role And ResponsibilitiesĀ 

The Sr. SAS Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SAS solutions that connect Liviniti systems with vendors, clients, and brokers. The developer will focus on custom compliance and regulatory reporting managing all aspects end to end. Ā This includes the development, configuration, and troubleshooting of extracts, file transfers, and data exchanges to support business functions. Ā The Sr. SAS Developer is expected to perform these and additional duties and responsibilities professionally and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of Liviniti:

•  Ā Ā Develop, implement, and maintain SAS-based solutions to integrate various trading partners, ensuring secure, efficient, and error-free data exchange.

•  Ā Ā Analyze and map data between internal and external systems, ensuring accurate and seamless data integration using SAS programming.

•  Ā Ā Develop SAS file formats and layout specifications, including fixed width, delimited, XML, and proprietary formats leveraging SAS programming.

•  Ā Ā Collaborate with the EDI team and other departments to ensure business requirements are captured and translated into technical specifications.

•  Ā Ā Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, providing detailed technical analysis and debugging support.

•  Ā Ā Manage the configuration of communication protocols such as FTP, SFTP, AS2, and WebDAV.

•  Ā Ā Assist in the onboarding of new trading partners, including setup, testing, and certification of new EDI transactions.

•  Ā Ā Ensure all EDI processes and solutions meet security standards and comply with relevant privacy laws, including HIPAA.

•  Ā Ā Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization of EDI workflows.

•  Ā Ā Provide ongoing support and maintenance for data transactions, ensuring system uptime and data accuracy.

•  Ā Ā Ensure documentation of SAS processes, transactions, and solutions is kept up to date for auditing and internal review purposes.

•  Ā Ā Abides by all obligations under HIPAA related to Protected Health Information (PHI).

•  Ā Ā If a HIPAA violation is discovered, whether individually or by another, you must report the violation to the Compliance Officer and/or Human Resources.

•  Ā Ā Attends, completes, and demonstrates competency in all required HIPAA Training offered by the company.

Required Skills And CompetenciesĀ 

•  Ā Ā 5+ years’ experience in coding languages SAS & SQL, particularly in the context of file manipulation, data transformation, data validation, and automation.

•  Ā Ā Knowledge of communication protocols including FTP, SFTP, AS2, and WebDAV.

•  Ā Ā Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues.

•  Ā Ā Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with competing deadlines.

•  Ā Ā Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•  Ā Ā Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a remote environment.

Position Type And Expected Hours Of WorkĀ 

•  Ā Ā Full-time/Salaried/Exempt.

•  Ā Ā Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the ā€œcoreā€ work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT. Ā We cover clients from the West to the East Coast; work times must be adjusted to cover meetings in all time zones. Ā Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant to industry demands.


Travel

- This position has minimal travel expectations.


Required Education And ExperienceĀ 

•  Ā Ā Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

•  Ā Ā Minimum of 10 years of experience in SAS and SQL development, integration, and maintenance.

•  Ā Ā Knowledge of PBM claims adjudication processes.

•  Ā Ā Experience in the healthcare or pharmacy benefits industry.

•  Ā Ā Experience in regulatory/compliance reporting to both State and Federal Agencies.

•  Ā Ā Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and other relevant data privacy standards.
