The Day Habilitation Aide assists in promoting the growth and development of individuals with developmental disabilities by providing direct support and implementing developmental activities. This role focuses on enhancing sensory-motor, communication, social, independent living, affective, and behavioral skills through a team-based, multi-disciplinary approach, while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 3:30 pm Location: New Bedford, MA Key Responsibilities: Client Support & Development: Implement individual and group activities, support daily living skills and independence, assist with transportation and transfers, and follow ISP, behavior, and PBS strategies. Data & Documentation: Collect and document data on activities, progress, and behaviors; communicate observations and support clinical documentation. Safety & Environment: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment; identify hazards and follow emergency and agency safety protocols. Team Collaboration: Participate in staff meetings and supervision and communicate effectively with team members regarding participant needs and progress. Community & Other Duties: Help individuals access community resources, maintain confidentiality, and perform other duties as assigned while supporting participant safety and development. QualificationsRequired Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities or in a similar human services role. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships. Ability to follow individualized plans and provide person-centered support. Ability to complete and maintain CPR/FA and SafetyCare certifications. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree in human services or related field. Experience in implementing behavior management programs. Additional coursework or training related to developmental disabilities, special education, or behavioral interventions.
