Patient Accounts Representative - Financial Counselor

Summary:

Discuss with the patient, while still hospitalized, and/or family member, questions regarding their insurance coverage or lack of coverage. Assist in the verification process. Make financial arrangements and provide financial assistance when necessary. Work closely with various other departments.

Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
•  Excellent customer service skills.  
• Must be a team player.
•  Must have basic computer knowledge and ability to type. 
• Previous telephone customer service experience required.
• Meditech and Cerner systems experience preferred. 
• Must be able to multi-task & perform effectively & efficiently in a fast-paced & high-volume environment.  
• Needs to have a good understanding of medical insurance.
• Minimum of 1-year previous hospital or medical office medical insurance experience.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.
