🔧 Diesel Mechanic – Bridge City, LA

We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Diesel Mechanic who knows their way around a garbage truck and takes pride in keeping things running. If you’ve got the skills and a solid work ethic, this role might be a great match.

Schedule & Pay

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, rotating Saturdays

  • Shift: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10–11) hours/day, 52–55 hours/week)

  • Starting pay rate $32 per hour.

🛠️ What You’ll Do

  • Perform regular maintenance, inspections & safety checks

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension & air systems

  • Handle minor engine repairs and part replacements

  • Use onboard vehicle computer systems to troubleshoot and adjust controls

  • Respond to road calls and emergency repairs

  • Review and complete driver inspection reports

  • Log work using fleet maintenance software

  • Test drive trucks after service

  • Assist teammates and interact professionally with drivers

  • Keep your work area clean and OSHA compliant

  • Take on other duties as needed

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in diesel/heavy truck fleet maintenance

  • Proficiency with diesel diagnostic tools and preventative maintenance

  • Hydraulic system expertise

  • Your own tool set

  • ASE Certification preferred

  • Class A or B CDL preferred
