Program Description:Ā 

The Sophomore Career Exploration Internship gives undergraduate sophomores the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at a unique institution. Through dynamic, project-based work assignments and professional development activities, students get:Ā

Sophomore interns work in one specific business area or function forĀ tenĀ weeks, andĀ have access to opportunities for collaboration with other students and employees from around the Bank.Ā 

At the end of the program, students leave with strong skills, professional connections, and meaningful experiences that will support them in their long-term careers.Ā

Our Unique Work:Ā 

The Corporate Group is dedicated to being a trusted, strategic business partner to customers Bank wide, delivering a broad range of innovative, impactful solutions that help the New York Fed meet its mission. The Group is aligned across its Functions to provide superior services and value-added resource andĀ financial managementĀ that support our clients and the Bank meetĀ objectives. Interns will be placed in one of the Group’s following Function Business Areas:Ā 

  • Corporate Group Support & Enterprise Services (GS&ES)Ā which serves as the Group’s centralized, internal business development partner, allowing CG’s other functions to align their operations and concentrate on their core competencies. CGSS focusses on three service areas, Business Support: Business Technology & Data Management. Enterprise Services and Risk ManagementĀ Ā 

  • Procurement Value Management (PVM)Ā maximizes value for the Bank by reducing the total cost of ownership of goods and services procured from third parties, managing the Bank’s vendor-related spend as a strategic resource, supporting the governance of vendor relationships utilizing a risk-adjusted and advisory approach, and enhancing our solution delivery for our clients in support of their business objectives.Ā 

  • Corporate Real Estate (ā€œCREā€)Ā provides a safe,Ā effectiveĀ and efficient work environment in normal and contingency situations. CRE is a valued business partner that enables business areas through the delivery of facilities operations, workplace solutions, space design, and management of capital improvement programs.Ā Ā CRE manages the NY Fed’s real estate portfolio in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the institution and is adaptive to change.Ā 

  • Business Finance Partners (BFP)Ā Ā providesĀ relevant, strategic financial and business insights to Bank business areas in support of the Bank's priorities.Ā TheĀ teams support each Group's strategic resource andĀ financial managementĀ needs, including budget planning and management.Ā TheirĀ FinanceĀ Program Management (FPM) team provides standardized financial support for the Bank's key programs, including centralized management of personnel and benefits.Ā Ā It’sĀ Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team serves as the Bank's central finance function,Ā managingĀ the s overall financial portfolio.Ā

HowĀ You’llĀ Make an Impact as aĀ Corporate GroupĀ Intern (Sophomore)Ā 

  • Work as a member of key business areas collaborating with and supporting teams on a variety of initiatives,Ā projectsĀ and day-to-day responsibilities.Ā Ā This can include:Ā Ā Ā 

  • Preparing,Ā reviewingĀ andĀ submittingĀ data analytics reports for the business areas they are assigned to.Ā 

  • Responding to operational service requests that come into theĀ Event Management,Ā Business Support and Real Estate teams.Ā Ā 

  • Provide support to enhance the teams’ existing PowerPoint presentations for circulation to key partners and Bank leadership: redesign, new slides, and formatting.Ā 

  • Participating and attending business area meetings and Group events.Ā 

  • Performing assignmentsĀ designatedĀ by Business Area managers.Ā Ā 

  • create dynamic and user-friendly Tableau dashboards for both reporting and exploratory purposes.Ā 

  • Analyze data using statistical methods / tools toĀ identifyĀ patterns and trends.Ā 

  • Collaborate with direct team members and other business stakeholders on projects and responsibilities.Ā 

  • Analyze Procurement Value Management’s policies, standards, and related documentation to provide insights into updating the guidance and resource documents.Ā

The Unique Skill SetsĀ We’reĀ Looking For:Ā 

  • A demonstrated interest in business operations, data analysis, program and project management,Ā risk management, event managementĀ real estate management, engineering/architecture, finance, accounting, ethics and compliance, risk management, supplier diversity, with a strong academic record and passion for public service.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. DemonstratedĀ working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Acrobat.Ā 

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.Ā

Salary Range:Ā  Your regular wages for the 10 weeks will be paid on a semi-monthly basis and will be calculated based on an annual salary of $65,600Ā
