DO & CO is seeking an experienced and results-driven Accounting Manager to oversee the daily accounting operations of our fast-paced luxury hospitality and airline catering business. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of financial and management accounting, including general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, budgeting support, treasury management, tax compliance, and audit coordination.
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining strong internal controls, providing strategic financial insights, and leading a high-performing accounting team that supports the organization's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
• Manage all month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, inventory reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Prepare and review balance sheet and profit and loss account reconciliations
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and foreign currency valuations
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial performance analyses
• Prepare financial packages for quarterly and annual reporting requirements
• Maintain chart of accounts and accounting ledgers to ensure accurate reporting
Audit, Compliance & Tax Management
• Lead mid-year and annual financial audits, including pension plan audits
• Oversee audit and tax activities coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors
• Ensure timely completion of annual filings, including Annual Franchise Reports and other statutory requirements
• Prepare and file Sales Tax Returns and submit required financial reports to airport authorities, including JFK and LAX operations
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies, regulations, and company procedures
Treasury & Cash Management
• Oversee all treasury functions, including daily cash management, cash flow forecasting, and financial projections
• Manage banking relationships, including the establishment of new accounts and money market accounts used as collateral
• Monitor liquidity and recommend strategies to optimize cash management and financial performance
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
• Oversee the full Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Review/audit invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and applicable use tax requirement
• Ensure timely collections and payment processing while maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships Budgeting & Financial Planning
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Partner with business leaders to monitor financial performance against budgets and identify opportunities for improvement
Benefits & Insurance Administration
• Assist in preparing financial statements related to the company's 401(k) and pension plans
• Ensure employee contributions and employer matching contributions are submitted accurately and on time
• Support the insurance renewal process and financial reporting requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA designation preferred
• Min 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities; min of 3 yrs managing
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and tax compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with operational leaders and executive management   Â
