Overview

AmTrust is seeking a motivated and analytical Actuarial Analyst to join our Reserving team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on actuarial experience within a growing insurance organization. In this role, you will work alongside experienced actuaries and contribute to reserve analyses, financial reporting, and reserving model development across multiple lines of business.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of actuarial reserve analyses for various commercial insurance lines, including Workers' Compensation, General Liability, and Commercial Auto Liability.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze data used in reserve studies and other actuarial projects.
  • Support the testing, maintenance, and enhancement of actuarial reserving models and processes.
  • Partner with actuarial team members to identify trends and provide insights into reserve adequacy.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop and improve data management and reporting tools using Excel, Access, SQL, and other analytical platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Claims, and Underwriting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, or another quantitative field.
  • Ability to work from our New York City or Southington, CT office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Access and SQL is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to learn and grow within the actuarial profession.
  • Prior actuarial experience and actuarial exams are not required.

The expected salary range for this role is $60,000-$90,000/year.
