AS728 - Nanny/Family Assistant - Tribeca, NYC

Overview

A busy family in Tribeca is seeking an experienced and engaging nanny/family assistant for their children, ages 3, 5, and a baby due in the new year. The ideal schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 12pm-8pm (flexibility to sometimes leave earlier and sometimes stay later is optimal). The older children are in school during the day, and the family has a full-time housekeeper who will care for the baby in the morning. The nanny will be responsible for taking over the baby in the early afternoon, picking up the older children at school and managing their afternoon activities, and handling evening routines (often, but not always with help of one of the parents).

Responsibilities

• All childcare, including maintaining age-appropriate routines for naps, feeding, diapering, hygiene, and daily schedules
• Work collaboratively with the family’s housekeeper to keep the household running smoothly
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate outings and activities for older kids
• Maintain organization of children’s spaces and belongings 
• Encourage learning, independence, curiosity, and positive social development through meaningful daily interactions
• Manage the school calendar, researching and booking activities, and scheduling appointments
• Spend a few weeks per year in the Hamptons in the summer (with weeks off in between, to be coordinated with other nanny) and an occasional weekend during the year

Qualifications

• Independent self-starter, with the ability to prioritize
• Organized and able to anticipate and think-ahead 
• Professional and discreet
• Engaging, and proactive in getting the children out and about regularly to classes and playdates 
• A second language would be a huge plus 
• Flexible for travel

Requirements

• US work authorization
• Willing to spend a few weeks per year in the Hamptons  in the summer (with weeks off in between) and an occasional time during the year
• Ability to swim, or at least supervise children in the water
• Driving is a plus but is not required 

Salary and Benefits

• $40-45/hr.
