Job Summary

ASG is looking for a Data Operations Engineer to join our client’s Business Operations data team, supporting the Senior Data Operations Architect in maintaining and growing the operational backbone for a fast-growing live-streaming and commerce business. This role centers on Airtable systems, API integration maintenance, and cross-source data reliability — not traditional software or data engineering.

The complexity of this role isn't about the number of systems connected — it's about understanding how marketing, production, and monetization financials interconnect, and keeping that web of data trustworthy. You'll spend most of your time testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting; there's a real opportunity to grow into more build work as the team's data infrastructure matures.

This is a strong fit for someone who wants ground-level exposure to how a high-growth business actually runs — production economics, efficiency metrics, financial reporting — with mentorship from the Senior Data Operations Architect, and a full tech team behind you.

This full-time role is 100% onsite in New York, NY. You will report directly to the Senior Data Operations Architect.

What You'll Do

  • Help consolidate and manage the team’s Airtable environment.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot API connections between systems like Salesforce, Coupa, and internal AWS finance tools to ensure reliable data flow.

  • Assist with automated reporting by tying financial, moderation, and production data to one central identifier (Stream ID).

  • Build and support dashboards and executive reports to track efficiency and performance.

  • Test and validate new integrations before launch, and proactively fix issues as they arise.

  • Be the go-to person onsite in NYC for daily support, escalating more complex issues to the Senior Data Operations Architect.

  • Keep our data standards, naming conventions, and system documentation up to date as we scale.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with data engineering, SQL, data modeling, or cloud data platforms.

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining Airtable systems at scale (multi-base, relational, dashboards).

  • Experience integrating Airtable or similar tools with other systems via API.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills; you enjoy testing, breaking, and fixing connections.

  • Curiosity about how businesses really work—with a willingness to work with financial and operational data even if you don’t have a finance background.

  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

  • Able to work independently and solve moderately complex problems with general guidance.

Nice to Have

  • Background in media, entertainment, live events, or e-commerce operations.

  • Experience with metadata governance, taxonomies, or data standards.

  • Familiarity with automation tools like Zapier, Make, or n8n.

If you’re ready to dive in, learn a ton, and help build the foundation for a dynamic business, we’d love to meet you!
