EH232 - Full-Time Nanny - Upper East Side

Overview

A wonderful, busy family of four is seeking a nanny to help care for their two children aged 2- and 5-years. The family live on the Upper East Side during the school year, and travel to their second home in Finger Lakes during the summer.

Both parents work in the city, so this is very much a sole charge position and they are looking for an experienced, professional candidate.

The schedule is for approximately 60-hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7am-7pm during the school year, but the family have more flexibility with hours during the summer months whilst continuing with the Monday through Friday schedule.

The position can be either live-in or live-out during the school year in NYC, but the candidate must be comfortable traveling with their family and/or living with them during the summer months in Finger Lakes. If a candidate prefers to live-in, the family have a separate studio apartment in their building. When in Flinger Lakes, a private bedroom and bathroom will be provided.

The ideal candidate will be warm, highly reliable, proactive, and experienced with young children, and who is interested in becoming a long-term part of their family. The parents do not micro-manage and want the candidate to work autonimously and 'run the show' whilst they are working.The position is to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

All childcare responsibilities including but not limited to -

• Sole care of both children - with primary care for the 2-year-old whilst their 5-year-old is in kindergarten
• Ensuring the childrens safety at all times
• Drop-off and pick-up from kindergarten
• Organizing playdates and activities
• Preparing and cooking healthy and nutritious meals for the children
• Children's laundry
• Assisting with bathtime and bedtime routines
• Help to maintain a clean, organized, and tidy household ensuring you clean up throughout the day and encouraging age-appropriate chores with the children. 
• Purchase and keep on top of grocery and household orders each week
• When in Finger Lakes drive the children to activties and the park, etc.

Qualifications

• A career nanny seeking a long-term commitment with the family
• The family occasionally travels internationally and would prefer the candidate to accompany them
• Excellent communication skills

Requirements

• Have a minimum of 10-years experience
• The parents believe in setting boundaries with their children and expect clear expectations, they would like the candidate to work as a team with them and have a firm but fair approach
• Previous experience working with a child with anxiety and who has sensory processing disorder
• Proactive and strong ability to work independently
• Driver with a clean license
• Swimmer is required
• Authorized to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

• $35+ per hour
• A separate studio apartment will be provided for a live-in candidate
• A Metro card will be provided if the candidate is live-out
• Health stipend of $400 per month.
