Role Overview

You will own the build-out of Fractal's compute business: modular data center capacity co-located with our distributed power assets, from siting and concept through commissioning and into operation.

This is a new business line for the company. You will own both the product and the commercialization of that product from end to end - selecting and managing modular, mechanical, electrical, and fiber partners, holding them to scope and schedule, translating customer requirements into buildable designs, and driving forward commercial agreements with offtakers.

You will work closely with our power systems engineering, development, and commercial teams, and directly with compute partners. Your judgment will determine what we can credibly commit to, how quickly we can deliver it, and what it costs. You will be a senior, cross-functional leader at the company with extraordinary agency, ownership, and expectations, and you will build the delivery team beneath you as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead modular data center projects from site selection through commissioning and handover, including siting and layout, power distribution, cooling, fiber, and civil works

• Originate, structure, and negotiate offtake agreements with compute partners, owning commercial and technical terms including SLAs, capacity ramp, curtailment, and milestone schedules

• Select, negotiate with, and manage modular data center, cooling, electrical balance-of-plant, and equipment partners, and hold them accountable to scope, schedule, and specification

• Own budgets, schedules, risk registers, safety, and quality across the compute portfolio, and report status to executive leadership

• Coordinate with Fractal's project engineering team on interconnection, load registration, metering, protection, and energization

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering data centers, mission-critical facilities, or modular infrastructure

• Track record taking projects from concept through commissioning and into operation, with direct accountability for budget and schedule

• Experience originating, structuring, and negotiating commercial agreements with compute offtakers or data center tenants

• Familiarity with utility interconnection and large-load energization processes; ERCOT experience is a plus

• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage vendor and contractor scopes, and to hold counterparties to specification

• Comfort operating with high autonomy in an early-stage, fast-moving environment, and the judgment to make decisions without complete information
