Job Title:         Investment Banking Associate / Vice President – M&A

Department:    Investment Banking

Location:         New York

Salary Range:  $175,000 - $250,000

The M&A Sr. Associate or Jr. Vice President will be a key member of an experienced team, contributing to a world-class investment banking practice focused on healthcare and life science companies, with broad and deep contacts within the biopharma and specialty pharmaceuticals industries. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of originating, structuring and executing sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions.  This position offers the successful candidate consistent execution experience, significant responsibility, and opportunity for advancement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in an M&A role on a leading investment banking team.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution and support the origination of M&A transactions including public and private sell-sides, buy-sides, etc.
  • Oversee the building and maintenance of complex financial/valuation models, including long range company forecasts, DCF analyses, accretion/dilution analyses and other valuation analyses.
  • Develop client relationships through deal execution and pitches as well as communicate and partner with other internal investment banking professionals.
  • Work with the Biopharma and Spec Pharma coverage teams on idea generation and material preparation for meetings with clients to discuss potential sell-side or buy-side transactions.


Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Healthcare Investment Banking preferred; Minimum of 4 years in investment banking with significant exposure to M&A.
  • Strong technical skills including advanced financial modeling, financial analysis and understanding of valuation concepts.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills including business writing and presentation skills.
  • Exemplary academic record: finance and life sciences undergraduate experience preferred but not required, MBA/CFA a plus.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, personable, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic, meritocratic work environment.
  • Regulatory qualifications (Series 79, 63,) to work in the financial industry within investment banking; individuals not certified will be required to undertake examinations within 3 months of joining the Firm.
