Patient Care Director/Nurse Manager - Adult Oncology Infusion Centers - Columbia University Irving Medical Center
 

At NewYork-Presbyterian, oncology nurses are at the forefront of a bold new era in compassionate care. We house one of only 20 National Cancer Institute-designated centers for pediatric Phase I trials in the nation. We recently delivered intra-arterial Avastin directly into a malignant brain tumor, the first time this approach has ever been used. We pioneered use of low-dose CT scanning for early detection of lung cancer, and more breakthroughs are on the way. Here, courageous nurses administer chemotherapy, manage symptoms, support patients and educate families, all while serving as the nerve center of extensive multidisciplinary teams.

Manage all aspects and daily operations of Adult Oncology Infusion Center. Maintain an autonomous environment that inspires nurses to reach their full potential. Mentor and evaluate professional staff and inspire their continued professional growth. Drive strategic initiatives that shape the future of emergency care and align with hospital wide goals. Regularly assess unit operations and identify process improvement to enhance the patient experience. Assume front line responsibility for unit's fiscal performance, resource allocation, scheduling, staff evaluation and patient care delivery.


Preferred Criteria

  • Five years of leadership experience in an oncology department within a large academic medical center
  • Demonstrated leadership in leading unit development 

Required Criteria

  • At least three years of acute care RN experience
  • Four years of leadership experience
  • Experience with union environments
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Current NYS RN licensure (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
