EOE  POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Program Director (Children’s Activities After Three) will work directly under the supervision of the CAAT Program Director and Director of Operations. The Assistant Program Director will be responsible for providing assistance related to; program, operational, fiscal needs, in addition to staff supervision. The Assistant Program Director should be familiar with a wide variety of social services and available community resources, with a passion for community outreach, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Assistant Program Director will be responsible to manage and maintain community outreach associated with growing and expanding as directed related to the CAAT and other self-funded programs within UAU. Employees are responsible for complying with all UAU standards. This is an in-person, part-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, from approximately 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., for approximately 27.5 hours per week. The position requires daily travel throughout Staten Island and candidates must have reliable transportation to travel between assigned worksites as needed. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to): Oversight of participant and staff files, to ensure all files are accurate and current based on UAU Policies and NYC Department of Health regulations. Oversight and management of program attendance records. Work closely with accounts receivable on applications and tuition payments. Create and oversee staff schedules, assignments, and time sheets On a daily basis, provide consistent parent and participant coordination, relationship management, communication and conflict resolution management between programming, UAU and School Administration. Maintain and create a positive and professional relationships with both current and potential partnering school administration. Supervise participants and support staff to ensure well-rounded quality programming is consistently being provided. Ensure that all arrivals and dismissals, are managed appropriately in accordance with UAU’s policies and procedures. Model, enforce, teach and develop age appropriate social, physical and emotional behaviors, as applicable. Demonstrate positive leadership and act as a positive role model to participants and staff. Participate in ongoing professional development. Abide by all safety protocols as outlined by Department of Health/OCFS, and UAU. Report daily to the Director of Operations of any issues or concerns that arise throughout the day and/or week. Management of program records such as; visitor logs, incident reports etc.. Work directly with the Human Resources department on all related HR items such as hiring, staffing issues, timecard approvals, terminations, investigations etc… Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree required; Bachelor’s in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, or related field preferred 2 years minimum of supervisory/ staff management experience required, within a childcare program or related field of work preferred 2+ years of experience working with children, required 2+ years direct experience working with children less than 13 years of age Must have a valid drivers license. Must be culturally competent - ability to understand, be sensitive to the needs of, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures Must pass reference checks and background screenings Strong verbal, written, mathematical, and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing needs Ability to collaborate effectively and achieve program goals and outcomes  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Involves sitting approximately 30% of the day, walking or standing the remainder – including running or lite jogging based on activity and programming needs. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 20% of the time. May include working prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May include working prolonged periods of time standing and walking, about 95% of the day. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
