Meet the Team

Millennium’s Infrastructure organization is dedicated to designing, engineering, supporting, and managing a robust server estate, systems virtualization, and core enterprise services. The WorldQuant Aligned Infrastructure team is a highly specialized group of talented, humble engineers from diverse disciplines. The team is focused on delivering exceptional services through meaningful changes across the technology stack, solving real business challenges, reducing operational complexity, and fostering a collaborative, team-driven environment that promotes mutual growth and success.

What You'll Do

  • Design, code, and implement proprietary systems and tools that bring research ideas to life and deliver meaningful business impact.

  • Collaborate daily with quantitative researchers to understand their needs and translate complex ideas into well-engineered solutions that support research and production workflows.

  • Build, extend, and maintain production-quality software across the stack, primarily in Python and with contributions to C++ codebases.

  • Solve complex algorithmic and data-structure problems where both correctness and performance are critical.

  • Participate in code reviews and design discussions, and promote engineering best practices, code quality, and clear technical thinking.

  • Communicate technical trade-offs and decisions clearly with engineers and quantitative researchers, bridging research ideas and production code.

What You Bring

  • Strong Python skills, including fluent, idiomatic programming and the ability to tackle complex programming challenges with confidence.

  • A strong foundation in data structures and algorithms, with the ability to reason about complexity, select the right approach, and implement solutions cleanly.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, insight, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.

  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly with quantitative researchers and engineers; bridging research ideas and production code is essential.

  • Advanced Linux experience and the ability to work effectively in a Linux environment.

  • A deep commitment to code quality, correctness, and clear thinking, along with curiosity and a willingness to learn and investigate unfamiliar problems.

  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach and the ability to engage effectively with domain experts in technical discussions.

  • C++ experience, or a strong willingness and ability to ramp up quickly; prior exposure to quantitative finance, scientific computing, research-focused environments, or performance-sensitive and numerically oriented code is preferred.

Salary Range

Millennium offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
