Position Overview

A Senior Veterinary Assistant is an experienced animal-care professional who supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians in caring for animals and keeping the clinic running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with spay/neuter surgeries and primary pet care
• Support patient monitoring, animal handling, and client communication
• Work directly in underserved communities across NYC

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum 1 year of professional animal handling experience
• Veterinary experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be willing to drive ASPCA mobile clinics (training provided)
• Spanish bilingual candidates strongly preferred
