Mitsui Chemicals America (MCA) is seeking a Technical Sales Manager, Performance Polymers to lead business development, sales growth, technical support, and market expansion initiatives across North America. What You'll Do
Sales Strategy & Business Growth
- Develop and execute mid-term business plans and annual budgets aligned with company objectives
- Identify growth opportunities across products, applications, and markets throughout North America
- Drive sales growth, revenue generation, and profitability for the Performance Polymers product portfolio
- Establish strategies, targets, and action plans to support long-term business expansion
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities
- Collaborate with global colleagues to support strategic growth initiatives and product line expansion
Customer Relationship Management & Technical Sales
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing responsive sales and technical support
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while cultivating new business opportunities
- Conduct customer visits and presentations to promote products, applications, and solutions
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
- Provide product, quality, manufacturing, and engineering support to customers
- Track customer forecasts, sales performance, and business development activities while providing regular updates to management
Marketing & Market Development
- Research and analyze markets, applications, customer needs, and industry trends
- Identify new markets, applications, and business opportunities for current and future products
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, exhibitions, and industry associations to strengthen market presence
- Monitor industry developments, regulations, and competitive intelligence to support business strategy
- Develop presentations, technical materials, and business proposals to support customer engagement and product promotion
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the value chain, including customers, distributors, and industry partners
Technical Support & New Product Development
- Provide technical support and product expertise to customers throughout North America
- Coordinate with R&D teams to communicate customer requirements and support product development initiatives
- Organize product testing, evaluations, and investigations to support new business opportunities
- Support customers with regulatory, quality, and compliance documentation as needed
- Respond to customer inquiries, claims, and technical issues in a professional and timely manner
- Partner with cross-functional teams to successfully launch and commercialize new products and applications
What Sets You Apart
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of sales and/or marketing experience within the polymer, plastics, coatings, packaging, chemical, or related industries
- Previous management experience required
- Demonstrated success in business development, sales growth, and customer relationship management
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate complex concepts to customers and business partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
General Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to analyze market information and develop actionable business strategies
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to travel extensively throughout North America, with travel up to three weeks per month
- Willingness to work beyond normal business hours when required to support customers and business needs
