 Assistant Teacher (Early Childhood Education)

Location: The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle, New York, NY
Pay: $18–$20 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Assistant Teacher – Infant, Toddler, or Preschool Classrooms

The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children. This role helps create a structured, engaging learning environment while supporting daily classroom routines alongside Lead Teachers.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children in a collaborative early childhood education setting.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Assist with daily classroom routines and learning activities 
  •  Support developmentally appropriate experiences for children across age groups 
  •  Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment 
  •  Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers 
  •  Prepare classroom materials and support group activities 
  •  Communicate professionally with families and teaching team members 
  •  Follow New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements 
Qualifications

  •  High school diploma required 
  •  Prior childcare experience preferred 
  •  Strong teamwork and communication skills 
  •  Reliable, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children 
  •  Must meet New York State childcare licensing requirements
