Job Description

As a Security Officer Temporary Housing in South Ozone Park, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Temporary Housing. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a Housing location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and respond to routine concerns with integrity. Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
