Reporting to the CEO and serving as a strategic partner to organizational leadership, the Director will help shape the people practices, leadership capabilities, and HR infrastructure needed to support the YMCA’s mission and long-term organizational priorities. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, or a related field; master’s degree and/or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other relevant professional certification preferred. Minimum of three (3) plus years of progressive human resources and management experience, preferably within the YMCA and/or nonprofit sector, with demonstrated experience in employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, and organizational culture. Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices, including wage and hour, employment practices, workplace safety, leave administration, benefits, employee relations, and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies, policies, and programs that support the organization’s mission, strategic priorities, employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness. Proven ability to partner with the CEO, executive leadership, managers, and Board/volunteer leadership by providing sound guidance on complex employee relations, organizational development, workforce planning, compensation, performance, and other people-related matters. Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to attract, develop, retain, and motivate high-performing employees while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement. Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and integrity; must demonstrate a strong commitment to the YMCA’s mission, values, and commitment to serving diverse communities.
