Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repair work to ensure the hotel, guest rooms, equipment, and grounds are maintained according to established quality, safety, and sustainability standards. This position plays a key role in providing a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and team members by responding to maintenance requests, completing routine inspections, and assisting with repairs throughout the property. Paint and maintain designated hotel areas, guest rooms, furnishings, and equipment to ensure a professional appearance and compliance with brand standards. Replace and repair basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and lighting fixtures while adhering to safety standards. Perform minor plumbing repairs and maintenance, including troubleshooting leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing plumbing fixtures as needed. Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, building systems, and hotel grounds to identify maintenance needs and ensure property standards are maintained. Respond promptly and professionally to guest and team member maintenance requests, completing work orders in a timely manner. Assist with the preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Focus on guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction. Maintain the property's curb appeal, including but not limited to snow removal, lawn care, gardening, exterior cleanliness, and trash removal. Maintain maintenance logs, preventative maintenance records, and inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment as required. Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and comply with all MSDS, OSHA, and company safety standards. Ensure maintenance work areas, workshops, storage rooms, and equipment are clean, organized, and secure. Perform other duties as requested by management. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required; trade school coursework, vocational training, or certifications in a related field preferred. Previous hotel, facilities, apartment, commercial, or residential maintenance experience, or equivalent technical training, required. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, drywall, carpentry, and general building maintenance preferred. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other maintenance equipment. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to interact professionally with guests, team members, and vendors while providing excellent customer service. Work schedule varies and may include working holidays, weekends, alternate shifts, and responding to emergency maintenance situations as needed. Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing ladders, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
