Position Summary 

The CM/ILS Specialist supports the AN/BYG‑1 program by performing a wide range of Configuration Management (CM) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities. This role involves maintaining accurate configuration data, developing documentation, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the quality and reliability of delivered hardware and software products. The specialist ensures compliance with Navy logistics requirements and supports ongoing maintenance, audit, and validation efforts.


Essential Functions

  • Support AN/BYG‑1 CM/ILS tasks across the program. 
  • Develop Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Certifications, including researching data and completing data entry in Navy Data Environment (NDE). 
  • Prepare Engineering Change Documentation (ECD) and coordinate with BYG‑1 hardware, systems engineering, and installation teams to obtain and verify data accuracy. 
  • Develop Configuration Overhaul Planning (COP) documents, maintenance and completion work-files in CDMD‑OA databases; submit updates to Navy Configuration Data Manager (CDM). 
  • Conduct functional and physical configuration audits for hardware and software. 
  • Attend CM/ILS group meetings, including CM/ILS Team Meetings and Platform Installation/Media Delivery/ECI Status meetings. 
  • Interface professionally with program sponsors, Naval Sea Logistics Center, NUWC Keyport, and other stakeholders. 
  • Maintain current and accurate CM/ILS/Installation data such as ECD statuses, task completions, and boat schedules. 
  • Support CM/ILS team leads with product development, organization of CM/ILS spaces in the AN/BYG‑1 Collaborative Environment, and acquiring access to required program databases. 
  • Develop, update, and distribute weekly/bi‑weekly CM reports. 
  • Conduct QA physical inspections of software received from source providers to verify compliance with requirements. 
  • Perform routine spot checks with ISEA 040 and develop Planned Maintenance System Service Requests (PSRs) per NSLC requirements. 
  • Track all new and revised PMS documentation to support ISEA 040 with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) efforts. 
  • Support Maintenance Requirements Card (MRC) Validation/Verification test events. 


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and recommend actions following established guidelines. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and support installation schedules. 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy of data. 
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Navy DoD logistics.
  • Previously served as submarine FT officer.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance experience.
  • Experience with Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) subsystems and processes.
  • CM Pro or other Navy CM database experience.

Additional Eligibility Requirements


Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirement 

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and required access to all worksite locations. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment.

Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Standard 8‑hour workday. Flexible scheduling permitted with supervisor approval. Must be available during core hours per contract requirements.


Telework:

  • No regular telework is expected for this role.


Travel:

  • Travel up to 10% may be required.
