Position Overview

Watermark / SOS is seeking a dependable, hands-on Service Technician to join our team supporting customers in the wastewater industry. This position is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment at customer locations.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable interacting with customers on a daily basis. This is a customer-facing position where strong communication skills and a professional attitude are just as important as technical ability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain wastewater treatment equipment and related systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls at customer locations.
  • Identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other equipment issues and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Install, replace, and adjust pumps, motors, controls, valves, piping, and other wastewater system components.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding equipment issues, repairs, service recommendations, and system operation.
  • Provide professional, courteous customer service while representing Watermark / SOS in the field.
  • Complete accurate service reports, documentation, and maintenance records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow company safety procedures and applicable wastewater industry requirements.
  • Coordinate with customers and the internal team to ensure service needs are addressed efficiently.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to perform service and repairs.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge of wastewater treatment systems and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in wastewater, water treatment, industrial maintenance, mechanical service, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Electrical or controls experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, meters, and other service equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being part of a team.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple service calls and priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in a variety of field conditions.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, climb, bend, kneel, and perform the physical requirements associated with field service work.

Experience in wastewater is valuable, but we are also interested in candidates with strong mechanical, electrical, industrial, agricultural, HVAC, plumbing, or equipment-service backgrounds who are willing to learn the wastewater industry.
