Job Description

As a Security Guard Full Time Unarmed Patrol Security Support in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture with teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities at a government maritime transportation location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned facilities, parking areas, waterfront-adjacent areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or potential concerns.
• Monitor access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, observing vehicle and pedestrian activity, and reporting unauthorized access attempts in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrol observations, incidents, access-related concerns, and/or property conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
