Job Summary

Job Summary

  • Transfers and transports patients within the hospital and at time of discharge.
  • Picks up and delivers patient supplies and equipment to departments inside the hospital.
  • Cleans and sanitizes transportation equipment.
  • Performs duties relating to Shift Coordinator in the absence of the Supervisor/Coordinator/Lead.
  • Performs AIDET.
  • Attend at least 75% of department meetings.
  • Cross-train to perform transporter functions at all facilities in the health system.
  • Performs courier functions as assigned.
  • Communicates with department utilizing assigned smartphone devices.
  • Deliver adequate oxygen to all requesting units during severe weather (Code Black).

Qualifications

Education

  • High school education or equivalent.

Experience

  • Prefer experience providing customer service in transportation (or transport), clerical duties, and/or dispatching associated functions. Requires general computer skills capable of utilizing health system's software programs.

Licensure/Certification/Registration/ETC.

  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) CPR acquired before or during new hire orientation.
