Brief Summary 

The Engagement Specialist serves as the first point of contact for members, creating meaningful connections and delivering an exceptional member experience. This role focuses on building strong relationships, identifying members' financial needs, and recommending products and services that support their financial well-being. Through a thorough understanding of credit union offerings, the Engagement Specialist educates members on solutions that help them achieve their financial goals. In addition, this position processes transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with credit union policies and procedures. Success in this role requires a friendly, energetic, and member-focused approach, along with a passion for helping others and supporting the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members, delivering an exceptional experience with every interaction. 
  • Process a variety of financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and transfers while ensuring compliance with credit union policies and procedures
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of credit union products and services to educate members and recommend solutions that support their financial goals and overall well-being. 
  • Meet or exceed sales and service goals through active engagement and relationship-building. 
  • Support members' financial success by providing personalized guidance, financial education, and access to relevant resources and solutions.
  • Represent the credit union professionally within the community, promoting its values through outreach activities, community events, and member engagement efforts. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a customer service or sales-focused role; financial institution experience preferred.
  • Experience handling cash accurately and efficiently.
  • Intermediate to advanced user level experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial products and services to individuals with varying levels of financial knowledge  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, balance competing demands, and deliver an exceptional member experience during every transaction
  • Comfortable interacting with members and the public throughout the workday in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled in resolving member concerns and de-escalating challenging situations with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment.  

Schedule

  • Schedule will vary, Monday – Friday 7:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. Occasional Saturday shift as needed, 8:45 a.m. -12:15 p.m.

Wage & Hour Details

  • Full-time, 37-40 hours per week
  • Pay is hourly
  • Starting pay range: $18-$19/hr., pay commensurate with experience
