Convientely located off I-26 at University Avenue.  The RN Safety Nurse provides oversight of resident safety needs in all aspects of care. This is a working position that provides / assists with direct resident care. Hours of work are days, Monday-Friday, 80 hours per pay period. There is a sign on bonus available when criteria are met.   RESPONSIBILITIES: Collects Occurrence Reports from units, enters on Occurrence Log and brings to morning standup meeting for review. Oversees completion and investigation of Occurrence Reports to include staff statements, investigation tools, and 24-hour follow-up. Completes Summary of Investigation and Recommendations for Interventions. Assures Occurrence Reports are routed to RAC nurses for care plan review and back to Don and Administrator within 5 working days, as a general rule. Assures lift assessment is completed on admission/ readmission. Completes lift assessments quarterly with each MDS and as indicated by resident condition. Assures lift status by residents door matches lift Data Collection Tools. Makes changes to resident care guide and by residents door as changes occur. Completes monthly and quarterly QI/Safety/Occurrence Reports and presents to QI Committee. Attends morning QI/ Stand-up Meeting and communicates changes in resident lift status or physical/safety devices. Informs resident and/or RP and staff on the neighborhood of changes in lift status and/or physical/safety devices as soon as reasonable to do so after changes occur. Oversees and implements interventions related to positioning and falls management of residents. Makes routine rounds to monitor placement of devices or other interventions. Works closely and communicates throughout the day with Restorative Program Coordinator, Therapy Department, as indicated, and Director of Nursing. Coordinates re-enactment of occurrences when indicated to provide better understanding of events and/or circumstances prior to or having bearing on circumstances of the occurrence itself. Assist the Director of Nursing, Staff Development Coordinator, and Administrator with special projects as assigned. EOE Smoke free workplace #MP2 Qualifications
