Job Description Summary

Leads the organization's accounting activities, including financial record keeping and reporting.Maintaining records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.Creating reports on financial performance for internal and external use.Completing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management, and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.Supporting and assisting junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Job Description:

  • Coordinate, administer, and maintain internal financial controls, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in managing and maintaining the standard cost process, including material, labor, overhead rates, and cost roll updates within production systems.
  • Prepare standard and miscellaneous journal entries as part of the monthly financial close process.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Partner with the Inventory Manager to ensure accurate accounting for material transactions and proper inventory valuation.
  • Coordinate with the Materials Department during physical inventory counts and reconcile perpetual inventory records to the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with operations and other departments to provide accounting guidance and financial reporting support for business transactions.
  • Prepare financial data, reports, and analyses for internal management reporting and external reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual operating budgets.
  • Support the Finance Manager with special projects, cost studies, profitability analyses, and new business evaluations.
  • Develop statistical reports and provide recommendations that contribute to cost reduction initiatives and profit improvement opportunities.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests by gathering, analyzing, and providing supporting documentation.
  • Track capital project expenditures and ensure appropriate capitalization in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Plex.
