Job Description

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research Labs Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.

This assignment is in the Healthcare Quality improvement (HQI) team within Global Medical Proficiency and External Affairs (GMPEA). GMPEA serves as the Center of Excellence for HQI strategy, professional relations and external affairs, independent medical education (IME), and our Research and Development Division Grants worldwide. This function exists within the broader Value and Implementation (V&I) organization, which is part of our company's Research and Development Division.

The HQI team supports the development and implementation of strategic plans to address healthcare quality gaps and clinical practice implementation barriers across priority therapeutic areas (TAs). The HQI team also collaborates with key healthcare quality organizations and engages with medical and professional societies on ways to improve healthcare quality and guideline-concordant care to improve patient outcomes.

Key Activities:

The intern in this assignment may be responsible for:

  • Supporting execution of healthcare quality and implementation science landscape assessment projects for TAs.

  • Developing TA quality measure reports and identifying gaps in healthcare quality and performance.

  • Assisting with TA medical and outcomes research team consultations on healthcare quality and implementation science.

  • Cataloging medical and professional society strategic priorities and initiatives related to healthcare quality and implementation science.

  • Supporting execution of HQI strategic priorities. 

Required Education/Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be a college student with a major in a Business, Medical, or Science field. Candidates enrolled in an advanced degree program (MPH, PharmD, PhD) are preferred.

  • Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be highly motivated to work independently.

  • Candidates must have demonstrated leadership skills, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn.
