Job SummaryÂ
The Molding Set Up Technician in the NJ plant is responsible for preparing, setting up, and optimizing injection molding machines for production runs, ensuring molds are properly installed, aligned, and operating according to process specifications. This person will troubleshoot molding equipment, perform minor repairs, make process adjustments, and inspect first-piece parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges). This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, adherence to 5S standards, and the ability to safely handle, install, and remove molds. The Molding Set Up Technician will collaborate with operators, maintenance, and quality teams while demonstrating ENNOVI’s values of accountability, teamwork, and integrity.
Main ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Install, remove, and alignmolds, ensuring injectionmoldingmachines are set up according to work instructions and production requirements.
- Perform machine start-ups, process adjustments, and troubleshooting to achieveoptimalcycle times and product quality.
- Collaborate with operators and other technicians to start machines,monitoroperations, and record production data.
- Identifyand resolve issues related tomolds, machinery, auxiliary equipment, materials, ormoldingprocesses.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensuremoldedparts meet quality standards and address defects or process deviations.
- Conductmoldand machine changeovers while following established setup procedures and safety requirements.
- Follow all safety procedures related to operating injectionmoldingequipment and handlingmolds.
- Maintain a clean, organized work areain accordance with5S principles.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel, quality technicians, and production staff to support efficient manufacturing operations.
QualificationsÂ
- High School Diplomarequired.
- Extensive injection molding or molding setup experiencerequired.
- Knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, safety procedures, and quality control practices.
- Ability to troubleshootmoldingmachines,molds, and process-related issues.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communicationand teamwork skills.
- Proficiencyin using measuring tools and inspection equipment, includingcallipers,micrometres, and gauges.
- Physical ability to perform the required tasks, including lifting and movingmolds, tooling, and other heavy objects.
- Experience withmoldchangeovers, machine setup, and process optimization preferred.
