CDL Driver/Light mechanic

Morrison Industrial Equipment is seeking a CDL Licensed Mechanic for our Muskegon branch located at 841 East Barney Ave., Muskegon, MI 49444.

We are looking for a skilled and dependable individual with a CDL A license and strong mechanical aptitude. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the local transportation and delivery of equipment, while also assisting with light mechanical and maintenance work as needed.

This is a full-time, first-shift position working Monday through Friday, averaging around 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime available. Starting compensation depends on experience and ranges from $22-26/hr.

Our CDL Licensed Technicians Typically: 

• Have a Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with a clean driving record. 

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent. 

• Proven experience as a technician or mechanic is preferred. 

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. 

• Excellent problem-solving abilities. 

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials. 

• Good communication and teamwork skills. 

• Willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamic needs of the job. 

• Work Independently with Minimum Supervision. 

• Value the Importance of Safety. 

• Ability to lift 80 pounds due to Lift and Move Functions. 

Essential Functions: 

Technician Work: 

• Diagnose and Repair Equipment Breakdowns 

• Communicating Effectively any Needed Repairs with Customers 

• Complete Work Orders in a Timely Manner 

• Coordinate with Parts and Service Department Daily 

• Comply with all Safety Procedures within Morrison’s Guidelines 

• Consistently and Reliably attend Shift Ready to Work when Scheduled 

• Perform any Other Duties as Assigned 

Driving Responsibilities: 

• Keep an Accurate Detailed Record of Delivery and Pickup 

• Monitor Truck Maintenance 

• Maintain Accurate Inventory of Packages and Materials 

• Load and Unload Vehicle According to Time Allotted  

• Administrative Tasks such as Printing Paperwork, Planning Routes, Managing Emails 

• Assist with Training 

• Consistently and Reliably attend Shift Ready to Work when Scheduled 

• Perform any Other Duties as Assigned
