Footprint & Capacity Planning Analyst

Position Summary

The Entry-Level Footprint & Capacity Planning Analyst supports the development of enterprise-wide manufacturing footprint and capacity strategies across multiple production facilities. This role analyzes manufacturing capacity, facility utilization, production footprint scenarios, and future growth requirements to support strategic business decisions. The position works closely with manufacturing operations, industrial engineering, finance, commercial teams, and plant leadership to assess manufacturing capabilities, identify capacity constraints, and evaluate opportunities for footprint optimization and capacity expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Support short-term, mid-term, and long-term manufacturing footprint and capacity planning activities.
• Analyze manufacturing capacity, utilization, and loading across multiple facilities.
• Develop and maintain capacity models for manufacturing plants, production lines, and work centers.
• Evaluate manufacturing network capabilities to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
• Identify capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and productivity opportunities.
• Assist in evaluating plant expansion, consolidation, relocation, and footprint optimization opportunities.
• Perform manufacturing footprint scenario analyses to support investment decisions.
• Support capital planning by identifying future capacity requirements and investment needs.
• Prepare reports, business cases, dashboards, and executive presentations.
• Support make-versus-buy and insourcing versus outsourcing assessments.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related technical discipline.

Experience

• 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, operations analysis, capacity planning, or related analytical roles.
• Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including PivotTables, Power Query, and data modeling.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools.
• Familiarity with SAP and manufacturing data systems.
• Knowledge of capacity planning methodologies and facility utilization analysis.
• Exposure to manufacturing network design and footprint optimization concepts.
