What You Will Do:

We are seeking an Accountant I to join our Finance team! In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. You will support the monthly and annual close processes; prepare financial statements, reconciliations, tax returns, and supporting schedules; and manage accounting activities related to fixed assets, inventory, and manufacturing costs. You will also investigate financial variances, support leadership decision-making, and contribute to ERP improvements and process initiatives that strengthen internal controls and reporting efficiency.

This on-site position with hybrid flexibility is located at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Senior Project Finance Manager.

How You Will Do It:

      • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established close timelines.
      • Prepare Sales and Use Tax Returns, working with external accountants as required.
      • Maintain fixed asset and construction-in-progress accounting, including depreciation, disposals, and capitalization reviews.
      • Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports; investigate and explain variances for key accounts to support leadership decision-making.
      • Support cash management activities, including bank reconciliations, monitoring account balances, and assisting with cash flow forecasting.
      • Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts, ensuring variances are properly researched, documented, and recorded.
      • Assist with ERP maintenance, system updates, and process improvement initiatives to strengthen internal controls and reporting efficiency.
      • Apply manufacturing accounting principles to support accurate cost accounting and financial reporting.
      • Comply with company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and emergency response protocols.
      • Maintain regular attendance and flexibility to work extended hours during month-end close, year-end close, budgeting, and other critical financial cycles.
      • Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned to support the Finance and Accounting team.

What We Look For:

Required

      • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field from an accredited institution.
      • Minimum of two years of hands-on accounting experience. Accounting experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desired.
      • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas, and familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
      • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
      • Experience responding to auditor requests and providing prepared-by-client (PBC) documentation.

      • Ability to prepare and file complex sales and use tax returns across various state and local jurisdictions.
      • Experience with the IFS ERP system.
      • Experience coordinating responses to tax authority notices and supporting state tax audits.
