Description

Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in custom stainless steel fabrication, is looking for a motivated, hard-working individual to join our Mechanical Assembly team on 1st shift.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy working with your hands, and like a job where you're not doing the exact same thing every day, this could be a great opportunity. You'll work alongside experienced team members assembling custom-fabricated equipment and helping with a variety of shop projects.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the mechanical assembly of custom equipment, including gearboxes, motors, drums, and other components.
  • Work from prints and instructions to help ensure components are installed and assembled correctly.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, machines, and other shop equipment under the direction of experienced team members.
  • Assist experienced welders and fabricators with fabrication and assembly projects by supplying materials, preparing parts, and completing assigned tasks.
  • Perform a variety of hands-on shop work, including finishing edges, tapping holes, punching parts, cutting material, cleaning parts, and acid washing.
  • Identify defective parts, equipment issues, or problems during assembly and bring them to the attention of experienced team members.
  • Help maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and outside storage areas.
  • Pitch in wherever needed to help the team keep jobs moving.

Why Northern Manufacturing?

You'll be part of a team that builds complex, custom-fabricated equipment for customers across a wide range of industries. This is an opportunity to develop valuable mechanical and manufacturing skills while working alongside experienced welders, fabricators, and assemblers.

Benefits include:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Short-Term Disability Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays
  • 401(k) with company match after 90 days
  • Annual profit sharing contributed to your 401(k)
  • Opportunities to learn, develop new skills, and grow within the company

Requirements

  • Dependable, hard-working, and willing to learn
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
  • Able to follow instructions, prints, and established processes
  • Willing to take on a variety of tasks rather than doing the same job every day
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team

Previous manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, maintenance, or similar hands-on experience is helpful, but we're willing to train the right person with the aptitude and drive to learn.
