Duties
The responsibilities for the design engineer are: The Engineer must have familiarity with and experience in developing design output in accordance with CNS and consensus national standards (i.e.. NFPA 70/ National Electrical Code, ASME, etc.)
- Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable along with an understanding of Conduct of Engineering and Conduct of Operations for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment
- Having strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various production and support organizations
- Review Change Requests (CRs) for systems that have been Returned to Service (RTS) >90 days that have not been closed
- Identify the Affected Documents associated with CRs RTS that need to be revised to reflect the work covered by the CR
- Perform walkdowns as needed to verify that the work covered by the CRs has been performed
- Review and compare information shown on Affected Documents to work defined by the CRs
- Prepare redline markups of Affected Documents to reflect the incorporation of the work covered by the CRs,
- Provide the redlined copy of the Affected Documents to drafting personnel for incorporation onto the Parent CM document
- Provide check/verification that Affected Documents reflect incorporation of CR information correctly
Education
Requires an ABET accredited BS Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience. Ability to obtain Q clearance required.
Level 3 – BA/BS Degree plus 10-14 years of direct experience required, or an MA or MS with 10-13 years of experience.
Level 4 - BA/BS Degree plus 15-20 years of direct experience required, or an MA or MS with 14-18 years of experience.
Level 5 - BA/BS Degree plus 20 years of direct experience required, or an MA or MS with 19 years of experience.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
Due to government and/or federal regulations for this position, proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
