Job Description

As a Budget Analyst I with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details

• Full-time, 40 hours per week in office position

• Support the Budget, Policy, and Gaming Compliance team

• Salary up to $60,000 based on education and experience

Responsibilities

• Reviews and assess agency budget work programs for constitutional and statutory compliance, technical accuracy, and agency budget explanations. *

• Analyzes, approves, and posts agency budgets and budget revisions in the state system of record, establishing expenditure limits. *

• Tracks, monitors, and analyzes legislation to identify critical fiscal and policy implications for assigned agencies *

• Consolidates, analyzes, and reports agency budget requests. *

• Creates agency reports for inclusion in the Governor’s Executive Budget Book. *

• Facilitates and responds to executive, public, and legislative information requests.

• Identifies quality proposals for improving the cost-efficiency or cost-effectiveness of state programs.

• Assists with training peers and agency financial staff.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. 

• Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; or

• 3-5 years of state finance experience

Preference will be given to candidates who possess

• A relevant degree in business, economics, accounting, finance, or public administration
