This position may be filled as a Monitor Technician I, II, or III depending on individual qualifications, experience, and business need.
General SummaryÂ
Under general supervision, will monitor telemetry set up on patients.Â
Essential ResponsibilitiesÂ

- Responsible for monitoring the patient once nursing staff have attached patient to the telemetry unitÂ
- Check for accurate date/time printout on rhythm stripsÂ
- Provide daily printings of each patient’s rhythm stripÂ
- Maintain appropriate alarm settings for each patientÂ
- Assist in troubleshooting monitor equipmentÂ
- Alert staff when a patient is in crisisÂ
- Perform ECG’s as neededÂ
- Maintain supplies for monitor area. Â
General ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Performs other duties as assigned.Â
Education RequirementsÂ
- HS Diploma or GEDÂ required.Â
Experience RequirementsÂ
- No experience required.Â
License/Certification/Registration RequirementsÂ
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.Â
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesÂ
- Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretations and performing ECG tracings is helpful. Â
- Good computer skills.Â
- Good interpersonal skills that allow for developing effective working relationships with staff.
