Senior Accountant

Primary Function: 

The position is responsible for recommendations and posting of all general ledger entries. The position works closely with a variety of internal departments including AP, AR, Contracts, and Payroll.  Employee will serve as administrator on several systems including: Deltek Costpoint, UKG, SAP Concur, Corporate Banking and Credit Card Account.

Essential Responsibilities:

1.    Identify and reconcile daily/monthly activities in back accounts. 
   2.    Responsible for reviewing and reconciling General Ledger accounts compliant to GAAP and FAR regulations.
   3.    Reviews and posts all AP vouchers, AR Billing, Cash Disbursements and Journal Entries.  
   4.    Reconciles monthly credit card activity using SAP Concur, Deltek Costpoint, and JPMorgan Chase. 
   5.    Prepares monthly borrowing base report. 
   6.    Research tax laws and regulations and implement as necessary into general accounting practices.  
   7.    Ensure accuracy and respond to notices from tax authorities.
   8.    Assist in the completion of various corporate tax returns.
   9.    Manages month end process and provides direction to staff members. 
   10.    Assists with the preparation of other reports provided to management.  
   11.    Assists with the end of year closing functions.  
   12.    Responsible for communicating with both internal and external customers in an effective manner.  
   13.    Ability to interact with customers and clients on a daily basis and troubleshoot potential problems for guests as necessary. 
   14.    Perform other duties as assigned.  

Work Conditions: 

Employee will be working mostly within an office environment.  Work will be primarily in person with the potential for some hybrid work from home and office.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent job experience in accounting.
• 2–3 years previous GL Experience.
• Proficient with Office 365 with extensive skills using Excel Spreadsheets
• US Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Security Clearance is required.
  

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with UKG Payroll Systems
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint
• Experience working in a Government Contracting environment.

• This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
