Press Operator - 2nd Shift (2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.) - Extrusion Dept.

Description

Market Leader in Aluminum Extrusion is seeking a Press Operator - 2nd shift (M-F; 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.) Weekend work required when necessary.

Job Requirements include:

• Performs setup of aluminum extrusion press. 
• Changes dies based upon written specifications. 
• Uses overhead crane to remove hot die from heated oven. 
• Places die in press tool holder, ensuring that tooling is correct length.
• Operates press to pre-set standards. 
• Enters die number; checks gauges to ensure automated operating system is properly controlling temperature and extrusion process. 
• Performs quality checks (surface and condition); cuts samples (after every 7th billet) to check tolerances.
• Lubricates equipment; performs light preventative maintenance. Removes scraps of metal from press with chisel. Advises Supervisor or Maintenance when press needs service.
• Maintains clean and orderly workplace.
• Observes safety rules and practices; reports any unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor.
• Must be able to lift 40lbs.
• Must have flexible schedule; weekend work is required. 
• Valid driver’s license required.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to temperature extremes (heat/cold), noise, dust in a manufacturing environment.
• Must wear appropriate PPE at all times (e.g., safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toes shoes, long pants).
