Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

As the Operations Manager for the largest distribution center in our network, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to create and maintain a safe, secure, efficient, and comfortable working environment. Your role will involve managing budgets, overseeing business activities, streamlining workflows and allocating resources to maximize efficiency and profitability, implementing safety initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety, Security & Compliance Leadership:

  • Develop and implement training, policies, procedures, and programs to maintain a safe and secure work environment for the site.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), enforce quality control, and ensure all operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor staff. Conduct regular performance reviews and manage scheduling
  • Manage financial forecasts, track operational budgets, and oversee inventory or supply chain logistics
  • Oversees operations to ensure that waste and production costs are minimized and there is conformance to safety and quality standards.
  • Communicates performance standards to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems.
  • Assists in establishing the longer-term strategic plans for the plant.
  • Mentors and motivates associates, providing training and development to optimize their performance and personal growth.

  • Ensures all associates have the resources and capabilities to effectively accomplish their responsibilities.

Team Management and Training:

  • Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are within the scope of the duties in this job classification.

CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience - Typically requires 3 to 7+ years of management or industry-specific experience.
  • Education - A bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge - Strong understanding of building systems, proficient in financial forecasting, inventory tracking software, and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis.
  • Project Management- Experience in leading and managing operations improvement projects, including planning, budgeting, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
    • Problem Solving - Critical thinker with proven ability to deliver timely and innovative solutions.
    • Organizational Skills – Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Communication - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to Detail - Demonstrates attention to detail and is diligent.
    • Computer - Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools.
    • Team Management - Prior experience in leading a team.
  • Leadership – Proven ability to remain calm in fast-paced and stressful situations.
