Job Summary
Air Methods Communications (AirCom) is the vital lifeline connecting our aircraft, clinical crews, healthcare partners, and communities. As a Communications Specialst, you will play a critical role in supporting lifesaving air medical missions by serving as the central point of communication between flight crews, hospitals, EMS agencies, and other authorized callers. Every call, coordination effort, and decision helps ensure our teams have the information they need to safely and efficiently transport patients when minutes matter most. This team works 12-hour night shifts with a 5:00 PM start time. Hourly rate starts at $24/hour. This position is for the November 2, 2026 hiring class

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:Â
- Coordinate all flight coordination information, including computer data entryÂ
- Responsible for flight following from lift off to touch down, following all FAA and company regulationsÂ
- Responsible for initial communications of public, private and flight-related calls coming into AirComÂ
- Responsible for communications between pre-hospital health care providers and the receiving institutionsÂ
- Promote communication between Communications Specialists, members of Flight team and outside agenciesÂ
- Assist in training new employeesÂ
- Other Duties as assigned.Â

QualificationsÂ

Education & ExperienceÂ
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years dispatch experience or experience with medical terminology used by Emergency Medical Technician or CNA
- Ability to present a professional image on the telephone and radioÂ
SkillsÂ
- Ability to multi-task efficiently, works in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and has a strong attention for detailÂ
- Advanced customer service and phone skillsÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsÂ
- Ability to be a team player with a professional attitudeÂ
- Ability to take and relay reports accuratelyÂ
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levelsÂ
Computer Skills Â
- Intermediate with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and OutlookÂ
- Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsÂ
- NAACS, EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-P, CAN, LMT, or Pilot Certificate preferredÂ
Minimum pay
USD $24.00/Hr.Maximum Pay
