Position Summary: The Content & Brand Manager is Index Industries’ hands-on creative owner, responsible for turning the company’s products, people, capabilities, partnerships, and daily operations into consistent, professional content. This position will plan and manage social content, create photography and video, design routine marketing assets, maintain brand consistency, organize the company’s creative library, and coordinate outside specialists when a project requires capabilities beyond the internal role. This is not primarily a supervisory or agency-management position. The successful candidate will personally create the work, spend meaningful time in Index’s warehouse and operating environments, and proactively identify stories and content opportunities without waiting for executives to initiate every post.
Role Purpose: Build a dependable, professional content engine that increases awareness, supports sales, strengthens Index’s family of brands, and accurately communicates the depth of the company’s products and capabilities.
Core Responsibilities:
Social Content Strategy & Management • Develop and maintain monthly and quarterly content calendars aligned with product launches, partnerships, trade shows, sales priorities, customer visits, and company initiatives. • Create, schedule, publish, and manage content across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other approved platforms. • Write clear, brand-appropriate captions, headlines, calls to action, and supporting copy for each platform and business division. • Monitor comments, direct messages, engagement, trends, and community activity; coordinate responses with the appropriate internal team members. • Measure performance using agreed KPIs and provide concise reporting with recommendations for improvement. • Maintain appropriate review and approval processes for customer names, proprietary processes, pricing, claims, and other sensitive information.
Content Creation, Photography & Video • Proactively capture warehouse activity, manufacturing and secondary processes, products, materials, shipments, team members, customer visits, installations, and other relevant business activity. • Produce short-form video, Reels, process footage, employee features, product demonstrations, behind-the-scenes content, and basic longer-form video when appropriate. • Photograph products for social media, websites, catalogs, sell sheets, presentations, and sales support materials. • Manage lighting, staging, composition, editing, retouching, color correction, cropping, export, and file preparation for routine in-house photography. • Maintain consistent product-photography standards and visual presentation across brands and channels. • Identify when a project requires a specialized photographer, videographer, animator, studio, or production partner and coordinate that resource.
Graphic Design & Creative Production • Create social graphics, product announcements, digital advertisements, banners, email graphics, sell sheets, presentation assets, trade-show support materials, and other routine collateral. • Apply established brand standards consistently across typography, color, imagery, layout, logos, and messaging. • Resize, adapt, and repurpose content efficiently across digital and print formats. • Prepare production-ready files and coordinate with printers, web partners, vendors, and outside creative resources. • Support development and maintenance of templates that allow the organization to produce routine materials efficiently and consistently.
Brand & Asset Management • Maintain distinct but connected brand voices and visual systems across Index Industries, Index Fasteners, Index Thermoplastics, Springfast, Strata Material Group, and future divisions or acquisitions. • Partner with sales, purchasing, operations, leadership, and division stakeholders to identify products, capabilities, partnerships, and customer stories worth communicating. • Create and maintain an organized, searchable library of approved photography, video, logos, templates, working files, final assets, releases, and usage information. • Protect brand integrity and ensure that current, approved assets are used internally and externally. • Coordinate outside freelancers and agencies for specialized campaigns while retaining internal ownership of brand standards, deadlines, and deliverables.
Required Qualifications • Three or more years of relevant experience in content creation, social media, digital marketing, multimedia production, graphic design, or a comparable hands-on creative role. • A portfolio demonstrating personally created social content, product or commercial photography, short-form video, and graphic-design work. • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage a content calendar from concept through production, approval, publication, and performance review. • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or comparable professional creative tools. • Experience using a DSLR or mirrorless camera, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, and basic studio or location setups. • Strong written communication, caption writing, proofreading, organization, file management, and project-management skills. • Working knowledge of major social platforms, native publishing tools, content specifications, analytics, and evolving platform practices. • Ability to work independently, identify content opportunities proactively, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and receive direct feedback. • Sound judgment around confidential, proprietary, customer, employee, and brand-sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience creating content for industrial, manufacturing, distribution, outdoor, knife, firearm-accessory, automotive, or enthusiast-product brands. • Experience supporting multiple brands, divisions, or business units within one organization. • Basic knowledge of paid social campaigns, email marketing, website content management, SEO, or digital advertising. • Experience coordinating print production, trade-show assets, catalogs, product launches, or outside creative vendors. • Ability to translate technical products and manufacturing processes into clear, visually engaging stories for both business and enthusiast audiences. • Relevant degree, certificate, or formal training in marketing, communications, photography, video production, graphic design, or a related discipline. A strong portfolio and demonstrated results may substitute for formal education.
