Core Supply Chain Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement materials management strategies aligned with organizational goals, including procurement, storage, distribution, and supply planning
- Cross Functioning: Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations
- Procurement Oversight: Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, components, and supplies, negotiating terms and resolving supply chain issues
- Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent overstocking and shortages, using cycle counting, physical audits, and demand analysis to improve accuracy and reduce carrying costs
- Warehouse & Distribution Control: Oversee receiving, put-away, storage organization, and outbound shipping to ensure materials and finished goods move efficiently to the right locations at the right time
- Order Cycle Management: Control the order-to-delivery process, including purchase order processing, supplier invoicing, and shipment tracking
- Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring: Analyze material usage, lead times, and cost data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with production, planning, quality, and logistics teams to align material availability with production schedules .
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory standards in material handling and storage
- Budget & Timeline Management: Manage departmental budgets and timelines to support supply chain objectives
- Team Leadership: Supervise and train staff, develop SOPs, and foster a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Understanding of JIT, lean, and inventory optimization principles
- In essence, the Materials Management Supervisor acts as the operational backbone of the supply chain, ensuring materials are available when needed, stored efficiently, and delivered on time, while minimizing waste and cost.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience as logistics supervisor
- Solid understanding of logistics procedures
- Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability in problem-solving and decision-making
- BSc/BA in business administration, supply chain management or equivalent
- Work Environment: This job role typically involves working in a warehouse(s) or a similar facility. Some travel might be required to visit vendors or other inter-company warehouses.

Pay range:
We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 annual salary. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
