As a leader in calcium-based fertilizers, we manufacture 98G pelletized limestone and SO4 pelletized gypsum for a wide network of ag retailers across the Midwest. We are a stable, growing, people-focused company that takes pride in the work we do and the customers we serve.

As we continue to invest in our Iowa facilities, we are also expanding our footprint with new locations, including a new plant in Blair, Nebraska. To support this long-term growth, we are now recruiting a Night Shift Plant Supervisor for the Blair facility.

Position summary & purpose

Responsible for the Supervision of night shift plant operations helping the team meet 1) Safety, 2) Quality, and 3) Production goals.

Responsibilities and Tasks

· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring everyone complies with safety/health policies and procedures. Act as liaison with EHS manager regarding all required reporting from night shift activities.

· Work with all corresponding Departments to ensure good communication and teamwork is maintained within Calcium Products. Not limited to maintenance, safety, training and operations.

· Accomplish department objectives by supervising staff and organizing and monitoring work processes. 

· Ensure plant personnel follow standard work Identified in their SOP’s. Work with employees and plant manager to make corrections/updates when needed.

· Address employee safety concerns, job performance, and overall attitude. Ensure the plant manager is informed of any issues and corrective actions taken.

· Ensure products meet quality requirements through execution of quality procedures and regular quality checks/measures.

· Deliver effective communication, and recognition for achievement.

· Participate in troubleshooting and repairs (as needed) to ensure production goals are met or exceeded. Ensure the repair form is filled out for proper tracking and repair parts ordering.

· Ensure all areas of the operation (parts, tools, etc.) and offices are well organized and clean.

· Ensure execution of preventative maintenance plan to improve plant uptime and efficiency. 

· Be visible, responsive, and available in the operations to support the night shift personnel

· Ensure all employees receive comprehensive training to include cross training in all aspects of plant activities.


Education, Skills and Experience

· High School or equivalent required.

· Proven track record of successfully leading teams in an operating environment

· Must have the ability to instill teamwork, build trust and respect without relying solely on authority

· Able to identify problems and exhibit good problem-solving skills following appropriate policies and procedures.

· Has a strong mechanical aptitude with experience in problem diagnosis and equipment repair. Welding skills are also a plus but not required. 

· Good communication skills

· Familiar with continuous flow plant operations and technologies

· Computer literate including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel
