Are you a Production Scheduler, who specializes in looking for a family founded company that invests in technology (equipment & software) for customers in the Aerospace, Medical Device, Automotive, Semiconductor, Computer, and general manufacturing industries.

P&F Machining, Inc., in Otsego, Minnesota is seeking a Production Scheduler that is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules to ensure efficient utilization of materials, equipment, labor, and manufacturing capacity while meeting customer delivery requirements. This position works closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Purchasing teams to prioritize work orders, identify capacity constraints, resolve scheduling conflicts and maintain accurate production plans.

Essential Functions:

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Production Scheduler consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the daily and weekly production schedule for all machining and assembly work centers, focusing on CNC Milling, Turning, and Swiss Machining capabilities.
  • Utilize Epicor to perform finite capacity scheduling, balancing customer demand, machine capacity and material constraints.
  • Adjust production schedules in real-time to mitigate delays, communicating impacts to relevant stakeholders (Sales, Customer Service, Production/Operations).
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, components, and tooling needed to support the production schedule.
  • Monitor and manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Support the accuracy of inventory data by monitoring material consumption and investigating discrepancies in Epicor.
  • Generate and distribute regular reports on schedule attainment and capacity utilization.
  • All essential functions must be performed in an efficient manner.

Competencies:

  • Proficient in Epicor ERP, including production scheduling, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), capacity planning, and work order management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, including milling, turning, and Swiss machining.
  • Experience with specialized manufacturing processes, including secondary finishing, heat treatment, and other value-added operations.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain principles, including forecasting, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and successfully execute large-scale projects.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive accountability and results.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on quality, productivity, cost, and on-time delivery.
  • Ability to complete all required documentation and maintain accurate, meticulous records, ensuring traceability and supporting customer and regulatory audits.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize competing demands.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking, analytical problem-solving, and business acumen, with the ability to make sound decisions independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams.

Education:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, manufacturing, business administration, or a related technical field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.

Background - Required:

  • Experience in production planning or scheduling, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment or precision metal machining industry.
