A Day in the Life

The Area Manager will be Responsible for management of multiple grain elevator facilities. Develops and manages individuals who gather information and transaction for profit on behalf of the company.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Executes on the overall strategy, vision and business plan for the North American Grain business.
  • Provides leadership in day-to-day activities and acts as a resource to employees in line with Bunge’s core values and mission.
  • Responsibility includes but is not limited to P&L results, working capital and asset management, budget management, managerial leadership, and employee relations.
  • Provides periodic updates and reports to the senior leadership.
  • Builds and maintains a portfolio of customers and vendors suitable for meeting business targets across the Grain business.
  • Identifies, evaluates, leverages and grows the business internally and externally through market share, customer base and volume.
  • Negotiates contracts and assists with the management of trades with merchandisers, customers and suppliers.
  • Optimizes internal & external contacts to predict business requirements and to develop new opportunities by creating alliances in new markets.
  • Participates in recruiting process.
  • Oversees and has active participation in providing effective training, development and retention of employees.
  • Maintains an understanding of all legal and compliance requirements.
  • Analyzes and interprets periodic business productivity and performance reports to maximize business decisions.
  • Leads team responsible for daily business activities with a clear vision, focus, and purpose.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and experience in the industry and market.

 

 Skills / Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness or relevant discipline
  • 10 years of related experience in Agricultural commodity industry AND managing a P&L
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to scope, plan, and administer strategy and process for continuous improvement
  • Strong communications, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency
  • Proficient with personal computer utilizing Windows software
